Fire Suppression
Central Highlands Aerial Services gives firefighters on the ground the safe, critical support they need to win the war against bushfires. In combination with these crews, we use technology-enabled, Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft and Thrush 710 aircraft to prevent small, containable fires from becoming larger, more destructive forces.
We are registered through the National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC) to provide support to Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES), And New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) for rapid, reliable deployment.
Studies show that to best protect people, land and property against bushfires, initial response and direct air attack strategies that utilize rapid response aircraft on the front lines – in combination with, and often ahead of, ground fire suppression equipment and personnel – can better contain fires and keep them small. This allows ground crews to put out blazes more efficiently, helping to limit bushfire devastation and the ever-increasing associated costs for fire suppression, and freeing up valuable funds for the federal and state restoration and land management work that helps prevent catastrophic fires in the first place.
